After saving an enormous soft maple burl from a demo bin and harvesting a dying applewood tree I have done a small production run of salt and pepper shakers. Unlike more common sets these are square edge and made without a turning lathe, a much more difficult task than first envisioned. Locally sourced, includes matched base, S.S. components and food safe finish.
locally sourced soft maple burl (Clarence) or locally sourced spalted applewood (Richie) – $120 per set
“SHORT END OF THE STICK” charcuterie boards and cutting boards:
A simple re-think in design turns short off-cuts into useful household product. Food-safe finish requires only soap and water scrub.

THE UNIVERSAL FORM:
Originally a prototype foot riser, I have made many variations and evolutionary steps with this form. Subtle details make this a pleasing shape that is light, strong (will support an adult) and stable. With variations to the leg height and dimension they have seen use as a step stool, meditation seat, monitor riser, lap desk, serving/hot food tray, display plinth, and many more surprising variations.

These lamps came about by way of a disc shaped LED bulb and a stack of discarded cherry veneer. The double-sided shade is a matched pair of pale, off color cherry veneers backed with white shoji paper. They are suspended between scorched Douglas fir uprights, all set on a spalted beech base. The bulb radiates minimal heat which keeps the lamp cool protecting the shade from warping or cracking.
$120 each or $200 for pair

bubinga and Shou Sugi Bon ash display table:
A successful experiment. Testing Shou Sugi Bon scorching technique on non-standard hardwood (ash). Careful attention was paid to minimize any warping. The top rests atop bubinga legs allowing a sightline of the textured interior elements.
